Abstract:Objective To comprehensively evaluate the quality of life of patients with non-erosive reflux diseases( NERD) from aspects of physiology, psychology and social activities; and to explore the key factors that affect the quality of life. Methods We recruited 100 patients with NERD. They were asked to fill in Clinical Symptom Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale ( HADS) , Health Related Quality of Life Scale for Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease( GERD-HRQL) and Gastrointestinal Quality of Life Index ( GIQLI) . Statistical analysis on the correlations within and between scales was conducted. Results The HADS-D score was higher than the HADS-A score, as the correlation coefficient between them was 0. 54. There was no correlation between psychological emotion and special disease conditions. There were positive correlations among subjective symptoms, body physiological function, emotional status, social activities and special disease conditions in GIQLI. The correlation coefficients between subjective symptoms, body physiological function, emotional status, social activities or special disease conditions and total score of GIQLI were 0. 740, 0. 795, 0. 823, 0. 733 or 0. 549, respectively. There were linear correlations between clinical symptom score and HAD-A, HAD-D or GERD-HRQL score, with the correlation coefficients were 0. 385, 0. 273 or 0. 421, respectively. The correlation coefficients between the overall GIQLI score and clinical symptoms, HAD-A, HAD-D or GERD-HRQL score were-0. 668, -0. 586, -0. 444 or-0. 255, respectively. Conclusion GIQLI scale can comprehensively and objectively reflect the living quality of patients with NERD, and is closely related to symptom score scale and HADS scale. Psychological and emotional status are the key factors affecting NERD patients' subjective symptoms, body physiological function, social activities and overall quality of life.
