Abstract:Objective To investigate the association of toll-like receptor ( TLR4 ) gene 2244 G/A polymorphism with primary anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies ( ANCA) associated small vasculitis ( AAV) in Guangxi population. Methods The genotype of TLR4 2244 G/A in 122 AAV patients ( AAV group) and 225 healthy adults ( control group) were analyzed by polymerase chain restricted fragments length polymorphism. The clinical data and laboratory data were collected. Results There was no significant difference in genotype distribution or allele frequency between the patient and the control groups ( P> 0. 05 ). The incidence of edema , the levels of serum urea nitrogen , serum creatinine and IgG were significantly different among the three genotypes of AAV patients ( P< 0. 05 ). No significant difference in AI or CI was observed among the three genotypes of AAV patients. Conclusion TLR4 2244 G/A gene polymorphism may be associated with the incidence of edema, the levels of serum urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and IgG in patients with AAV in Guangxi, but not be significant correlated with susceptibility to primary AAV.
