Abstract:Objective To determine the result of clinical -pathological features of recurrent meningiomas . Methods All the recurrent meningiomas treated in Sun Yat -Sun University Cancer Center from December 2000 to De-cember 2015 were retrospectively analyzed .Results A total of 57 patients (male, n=29) were confirmed recurrence at the last follow-up, with the mean age of 48.9 years.Thirty-four of them were primary WHO grade Ⅰ, but upgraded at recurrence in 12 patients.Similarly, 4 of 13 WHO grade Ⅱpatients deteriorated at recurrence .In multivariate analysis, WHO grade, Ki-67 index and adjuvant radiation therapy were significantly associated with patient prognosis .Conclusion The WHO grade might increase at the recurrence of meningioma .Patients should be followed regularly , and individual treatments should be suggested based on clinical -pathological features of the tumors .
