Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlations of serum D -dimer ( D-D) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) with erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), plasma C reactive protein (C-reactive) and disease severity in chil-dren with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia ( MPP) .Methods Eighty cases of children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia were selected as MPP group , in which they were subdivided into mild group (n=40) and severe group (n=40).Forty children with normal physical examination were enrolled as control group .Fasting blood of the control group on the day of selection , and of mild group and severe group on the day after selection and the day leaving hospital were col -lected.Serum D-D, LDH, plasma CRP and ESR were assessed .Correlations of serum D-D and LDH with plasma CRP and ESR, and correlations of serum D -D, LDH, plasma CRP and ESR with disease severity in MPP group were ana-lyzed.Results Compared with control group , serum D-D, LDH, plasma CRP and ESR before and after treatment in both mild group and severe group were significantly increased (P<0.05).Compared with mild group, serum D -D, LDH, plasma CRP and ESR before and after treatment in severe group were significantly increased ( P<0.05 ) .Com-pared those with before treatment , serum D-D, LDH, plasma CRP and ESR in MPP group were significantly reduced af-ter treatment ( P<0.05) .Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum D -D and LDH were significantly positively cor-related with plasma CRP and ESR in the MPP group ( D-D: r=0.825, 0.818, P<0.05; LDH: r=0.872, 0.858, P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that serum D -D, LDH, plasma CRP and ESR were significantly correla-ted with disease severity in MPP group .Conclusion Serum D-D and LDH level in children with MPP are closely corre-lated to plasma CRP , ESR and disease severity , suggesting e reference indexes for the disease severity .
