Serum cholesterol efflux capacity in patients with coronary heart disease

Abstract：Objective To investigate the serum cholesterol efflux capacity in patients with coronary heart disease, thus to find a new way for prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease.Methods Serum lipid levels and cholesterol efflux capacity were measured in control, SAP and ACS group.Results Compared with control group, there was no significant difference in serum lipid level in patients with SAP or ACS(P>0.05).However, the cholesterol efflux capacity was significantly reduced in patients with SAP and ACS (P<0.01).Compared with SAP group, the cholesterol efflux capacity was significantly reduced in patients with ACS (P<0.05).Conclusion Cholesterol efflux capacity is a new independent marker predicting coronary heart disease and coronary complication.
