Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of the adipose tissue derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) enhanced autologous fat grafting technique in temporal hollowing augmentation. Methods Forty-nine patients with temporal hollowing were randomly treated using the SVF enhanced autologous fat grafting technique or the traditional autologous fat grafting technique. After at least a 12-month follow-up, the efficacy results were elevated by temporal hollowing corrective rate, hollowness severity rating scale (HSRS) improvement, and patient′s satisfactory rate. The safety result was evaluated by the postoperative complication rate. Results Compared with the traditional autologous fat grafting technique, the SVF enhanced autologous fat grafting technique reduced the number of fat grafting operations and the total volume of grafted fat tissues, moreover, significantly increased temporal hollowing augmentation rate, HSRS improvement, and patient′s satisfactory rate.Furthermore, the SVF enhanced autologous fat grafting technique did not increase the operative complication rate. Conclusion The SVF enhanced autologous fat grafting technique is more effective than the traditional autologous fat grafting technique in hollowing augmentation.
