Abstract:Objective To investigate the predictive value of Banach risk score in patients with acute coronary syndrome presenting in emergency room (ER).Methods Adult patients (over 18 years old) presented in ER in my hospital from March 17, 2012 to August 14, 2013 diagnosed ACS were enrolled.Clinical data and Banach risk score were reorded. The all-cause mortality were followed up on Day 7, 30, and 180.Results Total 229 ACS patients were enrolled, with the age of 69.1±12.9 years. There were 169 (71.2%) men.In 229 ACS cases, 122 cases (53.3%) were eventually identified as STEMI, 42 cases (18.3%) as NSTEMI and 65 cases (28.4%) as UA.The latter 2 groups were combined and analyzed together as NSTE-ACS group (107 patients, 46.7%).There were significant differences in age, diabete history, heart rate, blood pressure, acute pulmonary edema, and troponin T concentration between survival group and death group (P<0.05).The all-cause mortalities were 7.9% (18 cases), 10% (23 cases) and 10.5% (24 cases) on Day 7, 30 and 180.The AUC of Banach score in predicting the mortalities in ACS cases on Day 7, 30 and 180 were 0.791 (95%CI: 0.733-0.842), 0.791 (95%CI: 0.733-0.842) and 0.802 (95%CI: 0.745-0.852).Conclusion The Banach rick score is sensitive in predicting the mortality in ACS patients in ER.
