Abstract:Objective To study the clinical stability of electrical conductivity method for acupoint evaluation. Methods After the sample size estimation, the consistency test for clinical application of conductance measurement techniques for acupoint evaluation were performed using test-retest reliability,inter-rater reliability, and diagnostic test. Results There was no significant difference in the measured values of all acupoints between the test and retest in 30 volunteers (P > 0.05).Significant difference was revealed in acupoint measurement among 10 operator without experience, who received system training, with the correlation coefficient between 0.49 and 0.87 (P < 0.05).In the 220 subjects from 11 centers, the Kappa value was 0.597 between doctors and instruments (P < 0.05).The Kappa value between doctors and instrument in locating internal organs was 0.564 (P < 0.05).Conclusion The conductivity method is stable in acupoint evaluation with good repeatability and inter-rater reliability.
