Abstract:Objective To investigate the Acinetobacter baumannii ( AB) infection in the intensive care unit ( ICU) of tuberculosis hospital, and to analyze the causes, so as to provide reference for making preventive and control measures of AB infection. Methods The clinical data of patients with AB infection in the ICU were analyzed.Distribu-tion sources of drug resistance were analyzed, and the risk factors of AB infection were also assessed. Results We identi-fied all the 327 patients in the ICU.The AB infection rate was 5.20% (17 patients), among which 20 different pheno-types were detected. All were drug resistant A.baumannii ( DRAB) , including 15 multi-drug resistant AB and 5 exten-sively drug resistant AB.According to univariate analysis, there was no significant difference in age, acute physiologic and chronic health scoreⅡ(APACHⅡ) and invasive procedures between patients with AB infection or not (P>0.05).How-ever, there were significant differences in mechanical ventilation, structural modification of the lung, and activity of pul-monary tuberculosis between the patients with or without AB infection (P<0.05).Conclusion The incidence of AB in-fection in the ICU of tuberculosis hospital is high.Mechanical ventilation, structural modification of the lung, and activity of pulmonary tuberculosis may be important factors of AB infection.
