Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between the oral health status and preterm , and thus to fur-ther analyze the related risk factors .Methods Oral health status and socioeconomic data were collected to analysis to the association between periodontitis and preterm .Pg IgG was tested by enzyme -linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).C-reactive protein(CRP) was tested by immunological transmission turbidimetry .The levels of interleukin -6(IL-6) and tumcr necrosis tactor-α( TNF-α) were determined by radioimmunoassay .Results Significantly lengthened dental clin-ic visit interval, less dental and prenatal care frequencies , and lower brush frequency were observed in preterm group (P<0.05).According to binary logistic model, after adjusting for confounding variables , periodontitis was significantly as-sociated with preeclampsia (adjusted OR=2.39, 95%CI:1.26-4.52).The levels of TNF-α, IL-6, CRP and Pg IgG were significantlyhigher in preterm patients complicated with periodontitis than that in control group (P<0.05).The levels of IL-6 was also significantly higher in preterm group than that in control group ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion Peri-odontitis is associated with preeclampsia .Poor oral health status is a risk factor of preterm .Maternal plasma inflammatory cytokines and Pg IgG test have predictive values on preterm in periodontitis patients .
