Abstract:Objective To determine the ED 95 of vecuronium in tuberculosis patients with different genders .Meth-ods Three hundred and twenty ASA grade I or II patients (160 tuberculosis and 160 non-tuberculosis patients ) were enrolled in this study .All tuberculosis patients had regularly received anti -tuberculosis treatment over three months , and were divided into male and female groups , which subdivided into four equal subgroups randomly .Each subgroup received an intravenous bolus of 20 μg/kg ( Subgroup Ⅰ) , 30 μg/kg ( Subgroup Ⅱ) , 40 μg/kg ( Subgroup Ⅲ) or 50 μg/kg ( Subgroup Ⅳ) of vecuronium , respectively .The neuromuscular block was measured by neuromuscular transmission moni-tor, and the responses were defined in terms of the percentages of maximum suppression at the first (T1) of the train-of-four ( TOF) of the adductor pollicis muscle .According to log-probit transformation of dose and response , the dose-re-sponse curve of vecuronium was established through linear regression .The ED95 value of vecuronium was calculated , and the onset time was also observed .Results The ED95 value of vecuronium in male tuberculosis patients was 42.0 μg/kg, close to that in female tuberculosis patients (39.9 μg/kg).The ED95 value of vecuronium in male non-tuberculosis pa-tients was 40.6 μg/kg, similar to that in female ones (40.0 μg/kg).The maximum inhibition of T1 raised with the in-creasing dose of vecuronium , and the onset time in male tuberculosis patients is significantly longer at a single dose of 40μg/kg (P<0.05).Conclusion The ED95 value of vecuronium in tuberculosis patients is 42.0 μg/kg (male) or 39.9μg/kg ( female) , close to that in non-tuberculosis patients .The onset time prolongs with a single dose corresponded to 1 times of the ED 95 value of the drug in male tuberculosis patients .
