Abstract:Objective To study the effects of different molecular weight peptides of Musca Domestica maggot on the biological function of human umbilical vein endothelial cell ( HUVEC) .Methods High, medium and low molecular weight polypeptides of Musca Domestica maggot were harvested by Dextran gel filtration chromatography .TNF-α-in-duced HUVEC was used for assessment of the cell proliferation , migration and VEGF secretion by flow cytometry , cell scratch test and ELISA method , respectively. Results The high, medium and low molecular weight polypeptides of Mus-ca Domestica maggot could inhibit the proliferation , migration and VEGF secretion of HUVEC , which in low molecular weight peptides treatment group were significantly prominent than the other two groups .But there was no significant effect on VEGF secretion in high molecular weight peptides treatment group .Conclusion Compared to high and medium mo-lecular weight polypeptides , the low molecular weight polypeptides of Musca Domestica maggot produces more prominent inhibition on the proliferation , migration and VEGF secretion of TNF -α-induced HUVECs .
