Common genetic variants of lipoprotein lipase in Chinese combined hyperlipidemia
Abstract:Objective To study the common gene variation of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in Chinese combined hyperlipidemia(CHL). Methods DNA polymorphisms of LPL were studied by using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in 156 combined hyperlipidemia patients from a population of Chinese Han nationality in Guangdong area. The loci studied included -93T→G, Asp9→Asn and Asn291→Ser of LPL. Results No positive cases were detected in any of 156 cases of combined hyperlipidemia. Conclusion Genetic variants of LPL in Caucasians may not be associated with combined hyperlipidmia in Chinese population.
