A study of Candida albicans adherence to human pneumoncytes and its influencing factors
Abstract:Objective To investigate the mechanism of isolated Candida albicans (C. albicans) adherence to human pneumoncytes and its influencing factors. Methods C. albicans were co - cultured with human pneumoncytes in vitro. The numbers of adherent C. Albincans were counted in 100 pneumoncytes after Gram stain and different treatment of C. albicans or pneumoncytes was examined. Results The adherence was dose and time dependennt. Attached numbers increased when the concentration of C. albicans increased in the range of 5×103~5×107 CFU/ml. Attachment was finished in 15 minutes with majority of C. albicans attached. The adherent numbers decreased after treating C. albincans with trypsin or treating pneumoncytes with C. albicans culture supernant. Conclusion The course Candida albicans attachment to human pneumoncytes is specific, and in dose and time manner. C. albicans surface protein and polysaccharide are important in the interaction.
