Abstract:Equine theileriosis is a tick-borne disease caused by Theileria equi infection, which is globally prevalent and leads to substantial economic losses in the equine industry.Laboratory diagnostic techniques are crucial for confirmation equine theileriosis, implementing quarantine measures, and conducting epidemiological investigations.Data obtained from epidemiological surveys enhance our understanding of the disease's patterns and characteristics. This article reviews and compare the recent advancements in T.equi detection methods and provides a comprehensive overview of its global epidemiological profile across different regions. The aim is to offer valuable insights for developing effective diagnosis and integrated control strategies.
