Abstract：Glucuronolactone is a natural metabolic of glucose in livers of animal.Currently,it is primarily produced through chemical processes such as nitric acid oxidation of starch.It possesses diverse biological functions,including anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation,and shows potential as a novel feed additive.This review,therefore,examines the structure,physicochemical properties,production methods,and biological functions of glucuronolactone,along with its prospective applications in animal husbandry.The aim is to provide a reference for the rational development and utilization of glucuronolactone in animal production.
