Abstract:Camelpox(CML)is a widespread infectious viral disease of camels that occurs mostly in the Middle East and in North East Africa on a substantial scale and causes huge economic losses to the camel industry. In the present study, the homology comparison of the complete genome nucleotide sequences of 13 camelpox virus isolates published in GenBank were performed, then a set of specific primers and a specific probe based on their conserved sequences of the ATIP gene were designed and a real-time fluorescent polymerase chain reaction(PCR)assay was developed. The results showed that this method had high specificity, good repeatability, high sensitivity, and its minimum detectable limit was 7.8 copies/μL.
