Abstract:Epizootic hemorrhagic disease(EHD)is caused by the infection of epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus(EHDV),a vector-borne viral disease transmitted by insects.It primarily affects deer,cattle,and sheep,with white-tailed deer being the most susceptible animal.This disease is prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions and is listed as a notifiable animal disease by the World Organisation for Animal Health(OIE).In this review,the author provides an overview of the etiology,epidemiology,diagnosis,prevention and control of EHD,aiming to enhance domestic awareness of the harmfulness of EHD and provide a scientific theoretical basis for the prevention and control strategies of EHD.
