Isolation and identification of duck flavivirus in Guangdong
Abstract：Since April 2010, a new duck infectious disease characterized by sharp decrease in egg production emerged in some areas in China. Some samples were collected from the diseased ducks in Jiangmen city of Guangdong province. Virus JM was isolated from one sample through duck embryo inoculation and was detected positive by duck flavivirus RT-PCR method. Sequence analysis based on NS5 sequence showed that strain JM was most closely related to flavivirus strain Tembusu and had great similarity （98%） with strain JS804. The results showed that strain JM belonged to flavivirus and might be the reason for the sharp decrease in egg production.
