Comparison of two thoracic surgical approaches on the construction of canine right heart failure model
Abstract:To establish canine heart failure model,12 dogs were implanted and connected a rapid pacemaker by thoracotomy.The surgical approach was at the middle of manubrium of sternum in 4 dogs and on the left thoracic wall in 8 dogs.The dogs were underwent rapid pacing at 200 bpm for 3 weeks and were observed the wound healing as well as clinical symptoms pre-and post-onset rapid pacing in these two surgical approaches.As pacing prolonged,canine right heart failure model was established successfully.In the operation,the approach on the left thoracic wall was better than that at the middle of manubrium of sternum.
