Analysis of Characteristics of Flood-Triggering Rainstorms in Qingxin District,Qingyuan City

Abstract:This study aims to analyze the patterns and characteristics of flood-triggering rainstorms in Qingxin District,Qingyuan City.Based on Micaps data,the CROSS Guangdong Provincial Climate Reanaly-sis Statistical Data Operational Service System,and NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data,a statistical analysis was conducted on 22 flood records corresponding to rainstorm processes from 2000 to 2024 provided by the Flood Control,Drought Relief,and Wind Prevention Office of Qingxin District.The results indicate that rainstorm processes can be classified into six types:typhoon type,frontal type,warm-sector type,southwest mon-soon+shear line type,upper-level trough+low vortex type,and low-pressure trough+easterly dis-turbance type.These types differ significantly in terms of occurrence season,influencing systems,rainfall intensity,duration,and cumulative rainfall.
