Abstract:To understand the wave characteristics of offshore wind farms, this study analyzes wave ob-servation data collected by acoustic wave gauges and corresponding sea surface wind data from December 1,2023,to May 31,2024,covering the winter and spring seasons. The results indicate that minor waves and moderate waves dominated both seasons, accounting for over 80%of cases, with significantly higher wave heights observed in winter compared to spring.Waves of moderate or higher categories occurred more fre-quently,while no storm waves were recorded in spring.Northeast winds prevailed during both seasons, with the highest wind speeds, maximum wave heights, and strongest wind-wave correlation observed under north-east wind conditions.Easterly and northerly winds followed as secondary dominant directions.Compared to spring, winter exhibited a greater proportion of northeast winds, higher wind speeds, and elevated wave heights. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the seasonal wave dynamics of offshore wind farms, offering crucial reference data for the design, operation, and maintenance of marine renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
