Abstract:To enhance the understanding of typhoon impacts on Conghua, this study analyzes typhoons affecting the region based on the best-track dataset(2008-2023)and surface meteorological observations. The analysis focuses on the influence of typhoon paths and intensity variations on local wind-rainfall distribu-tion,as well as the superimposed effects of external environmental factors such as topography and landforms. The results indicate that typhoons impacting Conghua primarily occur from April to October, with the highest frequency between July and September.Typhoon intensity shows no clear correlation with precipitation;wea-ker typhoons are more likely to trigger extreme heavy rainfall. The closer a typhoon is to Conghua, the more pronounced the rainfall it brings.Different types of typhoons exhibit varying impacts on wind and rainfall in Conghua, with those traversing the region or moving northward along its western flank causing the most sig-nificant rainfall.Topography significantly influences typhoon-induced wind and rainfall distribution, with windward slopes experiencing heavier precipitation.Funnel-shaped terrain further amplifies rainfall and wind speeds. This study provides valuable insights for typhoon disaster prevention and risk assessment in subtropi-cal mountainous regions.
