Abstract:Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is one of the most common chronic liver diseases globally, with a prevalence of approximately 32.16%,and this rate is on the rise.Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for reducing the risk of complications such as cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and other serious sequelae.Ultrasound attenuation imaging is an emerging non-invasive imaging tool that can quantitatively assess hepatic steatosis by measuring the attenuation coefficient. It has been shown to have a high correlation with magnetic resonance proton density fat fraction and histological biopsy results(with a correlation coefficient as high as 0.85).This technique also demonstrates high accuracy in the diagnosis of different grades of fatty liver, especially in obese patients. As a convenient and non-invasive imaging modality, ultrasound attenuation imaging has shown significant value in the early diagnosis and disease progression assessment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and it holds great potential for clinical application.
