Abstract:In order to explore the effect of iron-manganese modified biochar(Fe-MnBC)on arsenic speciation in an arsenic-contaminated soil and arsenic uptake by rice, this paper used a rice pot experiment in arsenic-contaminated soil. The results showed that after the application of Fe-MnBC,soil Eh and pH showed an increasing trend, arsenic concentration in pore water decreased by 72.22%,and plant-available arsenic decreased by 31.45%,effectively reducing the proportion of non-specifically adsorbed and specifically adsorbed arsenic in the soil. The total arsenic in all parts of paddy rice decreased, with the arsenic content in grains decreasing by 44.61%and the biomass increasing by 26.71%.Therefore,the application of Fe-MnBC has a significant immobilization effect on arsenic-contaminated soil, which can reduce the plant-available arsenic and the content of arsenic uptake and transported by plants, thus inhibiting the accumulation of arsenic in paddy rice.
