The study of copper metabolism and cuproptosis molecular mechanism and related disease treatment

Abstract：The newly discovered cuproptosis in 2022 is a copper ion-dependent cell death pathway that differs from traditional cell death pathways in terms of morphology,biochemistry and molecular biology,and is closely associated with the pathological process of many human diseases.In recent years,the study area related to cuproptosis is rising with remarkable research progress.How to effectively explore the molecular mechanism of cuproptosis and apply it to therapeutic targets and drug development is a hot topic at present.Therefore,the metabolic homeostasis of copper ions,the molecular mechanism of cuproptosis,the diseases related to copper disorders and their therapeutic drugs,and the evaluation methods of cuproptosis are reviewed in this paper to help readers better understand and study the regulatory mechanism of cuproptosis and its application in disease treatment.
