Abstract:Due to multilevel inverters can output multilevel output level, closer to sine waves, small output waveform THD, low voltage stress, low system advantages of EMI, and the output waveform is closer to the sine wave, multilevel inverters are widely recognized, and get a certain application. In this paper, a three-terminal switching network is added to the diode-clamped type three-level topology, and a new five-level inverter topology is constructed. The simulation results show that the output frequency of this new five-level inverter is double the switching frequency of the bridge arm, so this topology can use smaller filter inductance, and also reduce the output harmonics. By comparing the new five-level topology and diode-clamped type topology, it can be seen that the new multi-level inverter topology is easy to expand, has low loss and low cost. Using multi-terminal switching network provides a new idea and method for multi-level inverter topology expansion.
