Abstract:The modified Bloch equations with chirped terms are established through the semi-classical theory of light-matter interaction. In addition, the above equations are solved by an accurate, efficient and modified fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. We investigate the interactions between a strong chirped ultra-short pulse and a two-level system numerically. The results show that the chirp parameter, incident pulse area, pulse length and detuning have obviously modulatory effect on the population. Furthermore, how the laser pulse parameters affect the population is also studied, which helps us how to manipulate the population by adjusting the strong chirped ultra-short laser pulse parameters.
