Effects of tatol glucosides of paeony on rats' ulcerative colitis caused by dextran sulfate sodium
Abstract:Objective To study the therapeutic effects of paeony on rats' ulcerative colitis caused by dextran sulfate sodium(DSS).Methods In the experiment, the general state, the disease activity index(DAI) and the histological of rats were observed and evaluated, the level of TNF-α,IL-4 and PGE2 and the level of NF-кBp65 were measured through ELISA while the sample rats suffering from ulcerative colitis that caused DSS were treated by using tatol glucosides of paeony(TGP).Results It was obvious that TGP could greatly change the general state of rats as well as ameliorate DAI and the general histological.Compared with the model group, the level of TNF-α,PGE2 and NF-кBp65 decreased significantly(P0.05) while the expression of IL-4 was higher, which showed no significant difference. Conclusion TGP can effectively attenuate experimental ulcerative colitis through inhibiting the activity of NF-кBp65 and decreasing the level of inflammatory factor.
