Abstract:In the context of the deep integration between intangible cultural heritage protection and digital cultural industry, the lion dance,as an important symbol of Lingnan culture, has become an important path to creatively transform intangible cultural heritage through IP based practices.Taking the animated film series"I Am What I Am"as the core case, this paper analyzes the process of transforming lion dance from traditional folk practice to cultural IP,and explores the transformation of lion dance culture in terms of identity subjects, identity objects, and identity methods. The study finds that the IP transformation of lion dance has achieved widespread dissemination across regions and generations through the translation of spiritual cores and the reconstruction of cultural symbols, effectively activating the interest of young people in lion dance culture. However,it has also triggered a triple contradiction:the weakening of the sacredness of traditional rituals, the generalization of regional cultural symbols, and the lack of discourse power of the inheritors.
