The evolution and sublimation of patriotic spirit in Lu You's ocean poetry
KANG Danyun
Abstract:Lu You,a patriotic poet in the Song dynasty, was born on the coast and had deep feelings for the ocean. The study of Lu You's literature has always focused on exploring the connection between his Confucianism and patriotic works, and the results are the most fruitful, while there are few researchers who combine the ocean with his patriotic thoughts. This paper takes Lu You's ocean poetry as the research object, and uses the combination of text analysis and historical textual research to explore the unique correlation mechanism between his ocean writing and patriotism. The study found that Lu You not only changed the traditional purpose of seeking immortality from personal longevity to national shame and witnessing revival, but also endowed the writing of marine wonderland with a strong character of"entering the world."He also reconstructed the"secularization"of marine wonderland, broke the barriers of immortality, and made it a unique space for realistic care and patriotic ideals. At the same time,he creatively symbolized the ocean and its behemoths, and expressed his firm determination and indomitable will to fight against foreign aggression and eliminate traitors by writing about the"conquest"of the ocean. These unique marine writings jointly serve its unswerving patriotic theme, show the depth and resilience of its patriotic spirit, and provide an important case for understanding the feelings of the Song dynasty literati.
