Abstract：The praise of love is the core thread of the text narrative of Symposium,in which the issues of"what is love"and"the essence of love"run through.With the help of the unique form of"drinking",the interlocutors praised the goddess of love,"Aros",and launched a progressive debate around the dimension of value.On the surface,the book seems to be about love,but in fact it is an examination and reflection on the code of conduct of social moral values,the question of truth,goodness and beauty,and Plato's theory of ideas.The Symposium takes love as the object of praise,achieves a great leap in understanding at the height of metaphysical philosophy,and at the same time lays a solid foundation for the construction of Plato's theoretical system.In the process of systematic discussion,the order of speakers not only shows the ascending order of understanding,but also reflects the metaphysical philosophical construction.
