Cultural bias
WU Xinghua
Abstract:Simondon has studied technological alienation from the perspective of culture and and thought about the relationship between humans and technology. In his view, the main reason for the alienation of technology lies in the cultural bias towards technology, causing confrontation between humans and technology, and further leading to the dual alienation of humans and technology. However, humans and technology do not exist in a natural opposition to each other, but rather, they coexist and mutually achieve each other. The invention and improvement of technical objects cannot take place without human participation, and humans are also enhanced and transformed themselves through technology. To overcome technological alienation,it is necessary to reshape culture and establish a multi-disciplinary"machine studies",thereby reassigning technology its due position in culture and emphasizing the unity of nature, technology and human beings, which will give significant inspiration to the construction of human-machine relationships in the era of digital intelligence.
