On the Related Adverb“ke”
WANG Su-gai
Abstract:The adverb “ke” is one of the frequently used spoken words in modern Chinese. It is generally believed that the adverb “ke” is an adverb that emphasizes the mood, but we think some of them can be used as related adverb. It has two kinds of meanings: shun access and then. Shun then is equivalent to “jiu” and reverse access is close to“que”. We reveal that“ke” is characterized by a turning point while“que” lies in both a turning point and contrast.
