Impact of Comparative Factors on the Urban Residents Satisfaction---Empirical Study on the Data of Foshan City

Abstract：A new urbanization requires taking people-oriented, paying more attention to living quality and satisfaction of the residents. On the basis of measuring residents’ satisfaction, by using 3 646 survey data of Foshan urban residents, the study found that, after controlling of personal characteristics, occupational differences and regional variables, factors compared to other towns had the greatest influence on the residents’ satisfaction. Thus, it is the key to improve the urban competitiveness under the new situation by taking implementation of differentiated urban development strategy and highlighting regional urban competitive advantage.
