Literature Review on Yam Kim-Fei in Mainland China (1980-2014)

Abstract：In Mainland China, the study on Yam Kim-fei begins since 1980s, late but fast developing. Scholars from outside China pushed forward initially, while scholars within China stood for the main power in promoting and broadcasting Yam’s work. With frequent contact and increasing study on Yam between Hongkong and mainland, books and articles about Yam appears subsequently. The early life in Guangzhou and Foshan, the circulation of Yam’s works, the contributions of Yam to Cantonese Opera, the heritage of Yam’s arts, the singing style and performance study of Yam, and other related fields have been deeply developed as time goes.
