Further Discussion on the Comparability of Cross-civilization Study of Comparative Literature

Abstract：Since the western comparative literature lacks of systematic discussion on cross-civilization study and the insufficient understanding of the significance of “cross-civilization” in our academia, it is necessary for us to have a further discussion on the comparability of cross -civilization study of comparative literature. By analyzing the different opinions on the comparability of cross -civilization study, comparability as“seeking common ground while reserving differences” can be established. Moreover, based on the Variation theory, we could further deepen the connotation of comparability of cross-civilization study, which reflects the pursuit of world literature of comparative literature.
