The Status of Khanfou Area in the Ancient Chinese Foreign Trade System and its Cultural Analysis

Abstract：The paper explains the status of Khanfou area in the ancient Chinese foreign trade system. Firstly, Guangzhou’ Single Ports for three times had shown its prominent status in the foreign trade. Secondly, pioneering of successive foreign trade system in Guangzhou demonstrated Khanfou’s contributions to China’s foreign trade system and status. Thirdly, through the cultural analysis on Khanfou foreign trade status, namely, geographical environment and overseas markets, oceanic cultural formation and maturity, and the reinforcement of oceanic cultural spirits, this paper demonstrates the significant status of Khanfou area in China’s foreign trade system and proves a deep logic of cultural development.
