The Characteristics of Local Culture and Geographical Environment on Woodcarving Arts in Canton and Chaoshan Region
Abstract：The differences on the characteristics of the local culture and geographical environment in Canto and Chaoshan Regions have profound impact on the woodcarving arts between Canton and Chaoshan Region. As belonging to the Lingnan culture, both woodcarving arts have many similarities in the re- gional cultural identity, while the differences lie in the formation of local culture, natural geographical environment and dominant function in regional culture. Therefore, there have respectively distinctive features of geographical culture in Canton woodcarving arts and Chaoshan woodcarving arts.
