On Sun Yat-Sen's Anti-monopoly Thought
Abstract:Anti-monopoly is a significant part of Sun Yat-sen's Three People's Principles (Nationalism, Democracy, People's Livelihood) ,and is also one of the core points of Principles of People's Livelihood. The objective basis of Sun's argument against monopoly is the evils of the private monopoly and the con- cept basis is the modern theory of evolution and the thought of public interests. The thought of Sun's an- ti-monopoly still provides enlightenment for China today: first, measures should be taken before the growth of monopoly power, second, to prevent the combination of economic monopoly and political mo- nopoly; third, regulation to state monopoly should be reinforced.
