An Analysis of Property Rights on the Urban Population Management: A Case Study of Migrant Workers
Abstract:The household registration system makes it possible that groups with vested interests in the city have dominance ,rod control over the city resources. With the reinforcement of China's political and economic system reform, the household registration system continues tO exist.' Owing to the historical precipitation and the characteristics of ves,ted interests groups, groups with vested interests, under the household registration system, actually have the property rights of city public resources, and then this property has led to the exclusion of the migrant population. According to Coase's theory, to eliminate or reduce the externalities, we must re-examine the institutional arrangements that define property rights, and a reform of the urban population management system based on the household registration system is necessary, and it is also the premise and foundation to solve the urban problems.
