The Historical and Cultural Value of the Land of Mulberry Fields in Guangzhou Prefecture
Abstract：In the middle of the Ming Dynasty, the land of mulberry fields came into being in the Pearl River Delta, from which the Cantonese economy began to boom. In modern times, the prosperity and depression of Cantonese economy, in a sense, lived with that of the land of mulberry fields. The economy of mulberry fields seems capitalistic obviously and reveals the character of modern industrial civilization. In essence, mulberry fields derived from the idea of ＂the harmony between man and nature＂ in ancient China. They are of great historical and cultural significance to the world as well as their typically agricultural and ecological values.
