Analysis on the Effect of Covering Weed-proof Film on the Growth of Chinese Fir Saplings and the Cost of Silviculture
CHEN Gui-bin
Abstract:During the period of 2021-2023,the weed-proof film was tried to be applied in the new afforestation land of Chinese fir in the suburban state-owned forest farm of Sanming City,Fujian Province. The experiment of covering Chinese fir sapling forest land with different sizes of weed-proof film was carried out.The weed-proof film covering treatment group was set up with 0.8 m square weed-proof film(treatment 1),1.0 m square weed-proof film(treatment 2),and 1.2 m square weed-proof film(treatment 3),with no covering weed-proof film as the control group. Then, the effects of weed-proof film coverage on its preservation rate and growth in Chinese fir afforestation were explored, and its forest management cost was also analyzed. The results showed that the comprehensive indexes of treatment 2 and treatment 3 were better, and the average preservation rate of Chinese fir saplings was 94.00%and 94.67%,respectively.The average ground diameter was 7.26 cm and 7.50 cm,respectively. The average tree height was 386.3 cm and 391.9 cm,respectively. However,by considering the afforestation effect and forest management cost, the effect of selecting 1.0 m square weed-proof film(treatment 2)for continuous coverage for 3 years was better, and the material cost was greatly reduced(average 4095 yuan·hm-2),which was worthy of popularization and application in afforestation production.
