Factors associated with early enlargement of hematoma in patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage
Abstract:Objective To investigate the factors associated with earlyenlargement in patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage. Method An retrospective investigation of the factors in close association with the hematoma enlargement was conducted comparatively between patients with hypertensive hemorrhage complicated by hematoma enlargement and those without this complication. Results Hematoma enlargement is closely related with elevated blood pressure, agitation, location of the hematoma and liver dysfunction. Conclusion For patients with hypertensive hemorrhage, early management of elevated blood pressure, thorough investigation of the underlying causes of agitation and the allopathic remedy are of great importance, prescription of hemostatic agents for those with liver dysfunction is recommended.
