Abstract:The marine shale gas resources in the Middle and Upper Yangtze region of China are vast. Currently, large-scale and efficient development of shale gas in the middle and shallow layers (main burial depth <3,500 m) has been successfully achieved (Jin Zhijun et al., 2016; Ma Yongsheng et al., 2020). With the increasing exploration and development of shale gas in the middle and shallow layers, the exploration difficulty for these shale gas fields is becoming greater, prompting the exploration and development of shale gas to gradually shift toward deeper (burial depth between 3,500–4,500 m) and even ultra-deep (burial depth >4,500 m) areas (Ma Yongsheng et al., 2020).
