Abstract：To standardize the clinical diagnosis and treatment of ruptured esophageal and gastric varices in patients with hepatic cirrhosis and portal hypertension, the Chinese Society of Surgery, the Committee on Spleen and Portal Hypertension, organized relevant experts to develop and issue the 'Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Consensus on Ruptured Esophageal and Gastric Varices in Patients with Hepatic Cirrhosis and Portal Hypertension' in 2015 and 2019 editions [1-2], providing a basic framework for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of this condition.
