Abstract：Over 60 years had passed since the first human cardiac pacemaker was successfully im_planted into a patient in Sweden.From Zn_HgO battery to plutonium nuclear battery,recently the main candidate is Li_based organic battery.In the article,the history and state of chemical power sources used for implantable biomedical devices has been briefly overviewed.
