Research progress in LiCoPO4 as high voltage cathode for Li-ion battery

Abstract：Due to high energy density,specific capacity and a high voltage platform of 4.8 V(Li/Li+ ),olivine structure LiCoPO4 has a potential to be a new type of cathode material for Li-ion battery with high voltage and capacity.In the paper,the crystal structure,intercalation mecha-nism of cathode material LiCoPO4 was reviewed,and the preparation methods,the research pro-gress of modification was summarized.The development prospect of the material was forecast.
