Abstract:Carbon-coating LiNi1/3 Co1/3 Mn1/3 O2 powders were synthesized via a co-precipitation method, the polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)was used as the carbon sources. The highest tap density of the synthesized spherical-shaped powders was 2.17 g ·cm-3 .The structure, morphology, and electrochemical properties of the as-prepared samples were studied by XRD,SEM and electro-chemical tests. Results indicated that the carbon coating did not change the crystal structure of LiNi1/3 Co1/3 Mn1/3 O2 ,while all of the products were crystallized in hexagonalα-NaFeO2 structure with R3m spacegroup.Proper carbon can improve the cycle performance and rate capability great-ly compared with the bare material.
