Orientation Correction Study for Horizontal Components in Marine Multi-component Seismic Exploration Based on Amplitude Method
Abstract：A new method of orientation correction for the horizontal-component in the situation of horizontal-component random orientated, called amplitude method, is put here, aimed at the most complicated situation in multi-component seismic exploration when the multi-component seismic data were acquired using the looped-draped seabed cable system. The satisfied results of orientation correction were obtained, via the testing of 3-D theoretical forward modeling data and the processing of 3-D multi-component seismic field data in this paper, that indicating the feasibility and practicality of the new method.
